The RBS is a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, which is a parent bank. The bank has around 700 branches, mostly in Scotland. The company was founded in 1727 and today has over 141,000 employees.

To contact the customer service center, the easiest place to start is at the company’s webpage. Under the “support” tab, you can find a search bar with which to search a keyword or a link to chat with other RBS customers in a forum. To call the company, simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click call us. There you will find a list of numbers to call.

Scrolling down, customers will see a variety of commonly asked questions. Below this, customers can make complaints or pay the company a compliment. Clicking on the link to place a complaint will take customers to a page allowing them to call the company, write an email, fill out an online form or find a local branch to go in-person. They even offer live chatting.

They suggest that if you have a complaint you include important information such as

a description of your complaint

how you have been affected by this

a contact number and a convenient time to contact you

The company promises to call or contact the customer after receiving a complaint to confirm that they received it and to give a reference complaint number. They promise to keep customers informed on progress if they take more than 5 days to resolve the issue.

If the company has not resolved your problem in 8 weeks or you are unhappy with their response you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman. Reviews on RBS’s customer service are mixed. Many people report being very happy with the bank and enjoying the perks of being a customer there, such as cell phone insurance. Others say the website is easy to use and they were able to get the help they needed quickly.
